YORKSHIRE BADMINTON
SUMMER SCHOOL
please click on picture to enlarge
Last
year’s school took place during August again led
by Steve Butler and a team of coaches and pastoral staff.
York St John’s University was the new base for the
course this year as Bootham School was undergoing major
refurbishment. 62 young people attended from all
over Yorkshire. Not only is the course an opportunity
to further develop badminton skills and fitness, it also
gives the young people the chance to bond together in
new friendships and to develop their life skills
and independence. The school is now an established
part of Yorkshire’s calendar and I am pleased to
say that it will be back at Bootham School in their newly
refurbished facilities in 2010. The provisional
date for the school is: 15th
– 20th August 2010. An application for a place
will be on the website sometime in January.

Congratulations to the Under 17 ICT team for
their excellent performance in this year's competition.
They were runners up to Surrey only narrowly missing out
in a nail-biting final which went down to the last mixed.
The final result was 5 - 5 with Yorkshire losing on count
back by one game. Many thanks to team manager John Foster
very ably supported by Sue Foster and Kevin Baker
